Carl's 2009 Xmas Gift List

Every year I make up a somewhat ludicrous Xmas list for my friends and family. I don't really expect to get any of these, but it would sure make my day if i did! This year, I decided to post it on my new blog and let world know what a materialistic tool I am.

1. A bottle of Samuel Adams' Utopias -- This bottle of beer is something special that I'd love to to try. I love monk beers, which usually range in the 7%+ range of ABV and have complex flavors. This beer is aged over 15 years and has an ABV of 24%! I've read that the experience of drinking it equates to that of drinking a fine cognac. If you get it for me I'll see to it that you can enjoy a glass when I open the bottle. The cost? The beer lists for a mere $150 per bottle, but it is so rare that it is hard to find under $250. Don't worry though, you still get the $.05 deposit on the glass. If you can't find it, I'll forgive you if you get me a bottle of Dom Perrignon en lue.
2. A Bose LifeStyle V30 System -- My old Lifestyle 38 from when I worked in the Bose Store back in the day is on the fritz. It'll be time soon to upgrade the system. I've decided the best way to go is minimal. The Lifestyle V30 eliminates the bulky media centre with the redundant CD/DVD player and music storage (all that is done on my PC/Roku Box/Game console/Possible future HTPC project) and has a nice box for inputs that you can hide away. It'll only set you back a cool $2,999.99. Come on -- I'm worth it :)
3. Albeton Live 8 -- I'm getting into the idea of trying to produce some electro/industrial/synthpop music for fun again, and since I just built a new PC, I figure it is a good time. I'm checking out the Albeton Live Intro demo right now, and am thinking of getting it. But since this is a ludicrous list, I'm listing the full version of Albeton Live 8. After comparing this to Reason and Cubase, I've found that this software has the interface, features, and flexibility I really want.
4. An Akai Professional APC40 controller -- An awesome controller for Albeton Live 8 that will actually fit on my desk.
5. An S-Mann body kit for my smart -- Yep, it's damn sexy. I want one.
6. De Corsa 16" Wheels for the Smart - black and chrome. I really like the look of these wheels, and they aren't much heavier than the stocks, so they should not mess with the handling/power too much.
7. A complete custom audio system for my smart -- It's gotta have an in-dash nav and a full range of speakers from tweeters to sub(s) -- preferably installed by a professional car audio house.
8. A Barnes & Noble Nook -- You probably won't get one by Xmas, but I'll accept a tardy gift.
9. Copious amounts of currency -- You can put it right into my PayPal!
10. Gift cards to IKEA (need a new couch), Fry's, NewEgg, Amazon, Gap, Express, Pasta Pomodoro, any airline, any winery, Barnes & Noble, Trader Joe's, Rainbow Foods Coop, or whatever else you think I'd like. Or you could just get me a 2010 Green Zebra catalogue. Or an Xmas card to say hi :)

Update: within 10 minutes of posting this, my dad sent me info on a beer even stronger than the #1 item on my list. It is called Tactical Nuclear Penguin, is from Scotland, and has 30% ABV. Feel free to substitute one for the other, as long as it is being given to ME. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/north_east/8380412.stm
